My work in journalism started with a simple passion. Giving people and their stories the platform they deserve. At North Carolina A&T, that passion has grown through my work with Aggie News, where I report, produce, and create content that reflects the heartbeat of campus life.
As my media experience developed, I also stepped into leadership through our NABJ chapter. Serving as Treasurer has allowed me to contribute behind the scenes, managing finances, supporting programming, and helping our team build a stronger space for student journalists. It’s a role that's teaching me how to stay organized, collaborate, and make thoughtful decisions that support the community around me.
My path hasn’t only been shaped by newsrooms, my earlier roles in early childhood education, customer service, and retail gave me the foundation I rely on today. Working closely with families, leading teams, and assisting customers strengthened my communication, patience, and ability to adapt in fast-paced environments. Those experiences helped me develop the people skills that now guide me as a journalist and creative.
Across all these opportunities, I’ve built a solid production skill set that includes Adobe Creative Suite, visual design, scripting, social content creation, and on-camera performance. Each project and position has helped me grow into a creator who leads with curiosity, empathy, and a genuine commitment to telling meaningful stories.
